Gorgeous New Addition to the garden

We were out yesterday visiting our local nursery, and we came across this beautiful plant which we just had to buy and bring home.

This is the flower of the Phaius tankervilleae, known as the Swamp Orchid. They say it is a much sought after Australian orchid, and very hardy growing.

Here it is planted in the garden near the bottle brush and amongst the heliconias and gingers.  We are hoping it will thrive.

There are some more flowers have started blooming in the garden also:

The lillies are flowering!

and this lovely pink cactus has opened its buds.
