Some Crochet to Show

Well, here are some of the things that I have been madly crocheting this month. I finished some earlier but haven't posted them here yet.

So here we are, a block blanket for my granson for his birthday - a lot belated I'm afraid but I also can say better late than never!!  There was just so much work involved with this one, and I'm proud that I finally got it finished - it was a little dicey there for a while because I got to be so bored with doing the same thing over and over and over - you get the picture, I'm sure! Obviously arranged with much precision over the timber seat, so show it off in all it's beauty!

I also finally managed to get a shawl/scarf made for my friend  Ruth. Again artfully arranged ( I just love this!)

The third item that I can't find on the computer at the moment, is a corner to corner blanket that I made up for our great grand daughters first birthday on 3 May!  There is a picture of it that I Instagrammed, you can see it on the Instagram tab in the right hand column over there. I was very pleased with that also. Also, there were some items that I crocheted for our grand daughter, who turned 21 on 30 March, and I sent to her. I'll fish those pics out and show you too.

So now I am madly crocheting another 2 shawls, which I won't show yet, because one of them is a birthday present.  She's not allowed to see it of course!

So I' may be back soon with more pics - you should see how bare the back  garden is now, without the big tree that Alan chopped down! ( don't tell him I said that!).

So take care!

Thw Old Photo Challenge 2015

well here we are for our old photo challenge again.

This month the word was "Beach" and can you guess what I have done?

A couple of years ago, I copied photographs off our computer and put them onto discs and USB sticks for safe keeping.

With all my rearranging of my sewing (read "junk and stuff") room, I have packed lots of stuff into the wardrobe, along with those discs and USB sticks!

So of course, I have no Beach photographs to show tonight!!

But please don't let that stop you, just enter your pictures in Mr Linky below and be in the running for the prizes at the end of the year!

I will be back tomorrow with the word for May.

Take care

We Are Thankful Today

Wow! There have been some terrible weather caused things happen here yesterday and last night.

5 people dead from drowning, why oh why won't people look at the water before they try and drive through?? It is just so sad.....

A cutting from ABC Online:-

Queensland weather: Five people killed after three cars swept away by floodwaters; storm moves into northern NSW

Updated 51 minutes ago
Five people have died after three cars were swept away by floodwaters in south-east Queensland during a torrential downpour.
Severe and dangerous storms lashed the region on Friday, with an east coast low moving slowly into northern New South Wales overnight.

I hope that things go better in NSW, though I heard on the news just now that a young boy has drowned at Ballina in NSW.  The river at Lismore has broken its banks also.
We had storms all night and then this morning we woke to a blue sky and no rain! We are just so lucky. Can't walk in the back garden yet as it is waterlogged, but it will get away quickly if the weather stays fine.
To our friends in Sydney and surrounds, take good care, nothing is worth being swept away - if this comes your way stay inside and stay safe.

Take care
