Now He Is Dressed

Poor old overlockerman is now not naked anymore like this:

Now that he is on the table, he needed some clothes, so:

Mr Owl is eyeing off the sewing machine cover and wondering why he can't be the same!!

I simply measured all sides and cut out to the measurements then trimmed with bias tape, it went fairly easy and now he's decent.

The Down Under Doll Quilt Swap

Our partners for the Down Under  Doll Quilt Swap Round 3 have been issued, so now the excitement begins!  it is a little like stalking online, peeking at what my partner likes and all! And she can't know who I am!

I have had a look at my partners blog, and her Flickr pics and I think I know what I will do.

We have until Monday 8th October 2012 to have the quilt in the post, so I will probably change my mind ten times before then!

I'll give sneak peeks as I go.

A New Bag and Other things

I just finished this bag this afternoon - I think it looks cute and it was fun to do - I even think I might make another one!

The one under the cup is a little wonky but it still does the job!

I'm still working on the tidying of my sewing room.  I have been able to add the overlocker to the table, maybe with it out I will use it a little more!

I still have things everywhere, but it is getting better!

Some Beading Done

My online friend, Diane of The Chesire Quilter told me that a wonky circle could be fixed with beads and other things so it isn't so obvious.
So I did this to my Dresden Plate block:

Some beads have been added to take  away the wonkiness, at least I hope they do.

Look What I Did

I did this today when I got home from Thursday Sewing Group.

I'm not real happy with it, my circle is slightly out of whack, but I never said I was perfect!!

It's the Craftsy BOM for July - I've got another one to do but I think it can wait.

I stitched it with that nylon filament thread - boy that is awful stuff to sew with! You can't see it!! 

I guess that's what it's for!

I've almost finished a special quilt that I will show you soon.....

I have finished my zigzag crochet throw.

I really like it - it is cosy and bright and cheerful

I like the way the edging turned out - it really finished it off well.

Placed with gay abandon over the edge of the lounge!

Now I am starting a crochet bag to hold projects. The fingers need the work in the evenings.

Been Busy!

Lots of things have been happening here - and little time to blog about them!

I'll catch you up with one thing though - this:-

There's my ripple blanket to the left , that I have been crocheting in the evenings - nowhere to put it till it's finished! Can you see the little piece of tiled floor there?

I have to sew with all this mess around me! I usually do have a bit of untidiness, for want of anything better , let's call it "creative untidiness"!

And here is the answer to it all!  A new cupboard to assemble and use for storage (ie shove stuff into, to get it out of my way) Not really, this time I will be ruthlessly neat 'cos i can't find anything...

So of course now the sewing room needs to be stripped out and everything rearranged and perhaps a bit of a clean out.  It really is about time..

If I'm right, I have some quilting books that I might just have to have a give away for, and some other items . I really don't know what I will find through this, but I will keep you updated.

The Down Under Doll Quilt Swap

Round 3 is starting so I have joined up with Michelle on The Quilted Tortoise .

There's a Flickr Group here, if you want to take a look and maybe join (but only if you are in Australia, I'm afraid.

We are both starting to feel a bit better now, so it will be back to the sewing machine soon, for me!

Did you notice I changed the template ? It needed a break, I was tired of looking at pink! Now I need to find a different picture for the header. Any suggestions gladly accepted and thought about.

We Are Officially Sick!

Sorry I haven’t been around much, Alan and I are both sick with the dreaded lurgy.

I’m now on antibiotics and we are both spending lots of time in bed to try and shake off the worst.  I’m doing a little crochet but not much more because I can’t stay up for long!

 

I have always disliked having my picture taken, this reminds me of why!! When I feel better I am going to start walking and eating better. Or I’ll try to!

At least Penelope looks cute!

A Winter’s Day

It has been a really horrid winter’s day here today.  Freezing cold wind that we have had for the past few days, and it is almost impossible to warm up, even when the sun is shining.
It is 20 degrees celsius in the house as I write, but a good 5 degrees cooler when you step outside. Not nice.

I have downloaded the July blocks for the Craftsy BOM, so I may get on with them tomorrow.

When the weather gets cold like this, I have to knit or crochet, it keeps the blood from freezing in my veins, so hop on over to the knitting and crochet page and take a look at what I have been doing.

Blocks and Other Things

I have been madly sewing to try and catch up with my BOM’s.       Still going!

I have posted of these blocks to my swap partner for June in the Quilting Blocks Australia swap,Isa, who lives in Melbourne.  They left a while ago and I forgot to post these pictures:

 

I haven’t heard from Isa yet, she should have the blocks very shortly.
