I have decided to name 2013 the Year of the Scrap.
I have been cleaning out my sewing room and was shocked by the sheer amount of scrap fabric I have accumulated. When I have finished the big clean up, I will show you what I mean, I'm sure you will be just as shocked!
Warning;
Fabric scraps multiply exponentially when placed in the dark! Be Warned!
I have decided on a particular pattern, the + and X quilt. May has a tutorial on her blog Badskirt, Here
Her is the block:

I have done a 12" and an 8" block here -= I think I will start with a 12" block, then follow it up with an 8" block quilt.
Believe it or not, I'm wondering if that will use enough of the scraps to leave a dent - I have my doubts. Yes, that IS how many scraps I have!
So now I am on the lookout for simple scrap quilts. Do you have a favourite you could share with me?
All patterns gratefully accepted!!

I like a simple scrap quilt... cut pieces into squares and sew togethre x Squares any size... I did one with 4 in squares and just kept adding ... used them as savers at the beg and end of sewing and it got BIG in no time at all lol xx
String quilts use up quite a bit of fabric. You could also check out the Quilters Cache website. She has tons of patterns in all sizes that would work with scraps.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Sharyn those blocks look great, can just imagine how many scraps you have......We had better see some blocks the next time we catch up....hope you are feeling a lot better, have a great weekend...Linda x
