Saturdays Slideshows and Snapshots

I have been thinking of having a linky party each week for quite a while now, so here it is!  I'm jumping in with both feet firmly planted together, knowing not where I may land!

Rules of Saturdays Slideshows and Snapshots.

  • Truly there aren't many
  • Join in by doing a post on your blog and then coming over here and joining by clicking on the Linky Tools button below and fill in your details
  • You don't need to make a slideshow, you can put together some of your favourite pictures of things you love, and give us all a glimpse of how you operate and what moves you
That's it!!

So here is the Inaugural Slideshow and Snapshots for this Saturday, don't be shy just jump right in and have fun with it!

I may not always put a slideshow up, you'll just have to watch and see.
Come on now, everyone join in!!

It's The Big Race Weekend!

This weekend is the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 race.

This is the 50th year, and it is shaping up to be an amzing one!  Alan and  I will be watching it on the TV (you see more that way) right through the weekend, so not much work will be done around here....

Alan follows the V8's all year, I just like to watch Bathurst.

There's a great Facebook page all about it HERE

BATHURST 1000”

The Mountain overlooks Bathurst, and is well known in Australia, as it is where the Bathurst 1000, for V8 cars motor race is held on the second weekend each October.

In 1938, the circuit that we see today, was officially opened, and in 1973, the 1st, 1000km race, the Hardie Ferodo 1000 took place. Later events have taken the name of whoever the Sponsor for that year is.

SOME FACTS………..

• The Racing circuit is 6.2 kms long.
• 2003 and GREG MURPHY, became the fastest man to complete a lap of the circuit in the time of 2.06.8594 in the “Top ten shoot out.”
• The current race lap record of 2.08.4651 was set by Jamie Wihincup in 2007.
• The “Mount” is the only major racing circuit that is a public road outside of race time.
• In his lifetime,”Peter Brock” won Bathurst 9 times, a feat that still has not been beaten.
• The highest point is 874mtrs above sea level.

The track is a demanding one and has taken its toll on the visiting racers, with 15 competitors losing their lives since it began in 1938.

Expect to be in amongst a crowd of 200,000 plus.... people when you are a spectator at the track over the weekend.

Not much to Show for Today

Haven't got anything finished to show for today.  Had a great time at our Sewing Group this morning, but I won't show the results until they are completely done.

I have lots of block of the months to catch up on, and a blog swap to do, and tomorrow Alan and I will spend the day out in the garden. The weeds are taking over, which is typical as soon as the warmer weather starts, and the late winds are knocking the plants around something awful.  So we need to hand water everything because there's no rain expected. Such is life!  We really really need some rain, everywhere is dry and dusty and burned off. Just a little bit, please Universe!

So that's about that for today, now let me find a picture that's cute or relaxing or nice or something  for you!

I love my Buddha!

DUDQS3 Update

It's finished and is on its way!! (It left yesterday)

My partner should have it by Monday I would say, so now we just wait to see if she likes it!
