Saturday's Snapshots

I'll continue with my Saturday Snapshots and show you what is happening at my place.

It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring

Poor old Penelope loves her cat house ( known by us humans as the Bali hut)

He bumped his head on the back of the bed

and he couldn't get up in the morning!!

Rain, rain everywhere!

The garden is inundated

You can see the water lying around everywhere - it can't get away

You can also see that the garden still needs weeding - desperately now

We haven't been able to work over the grass for so long now - the weeds are really taking over, though it should be easy to remove them once we can get to them!

It's Still Raining!!!

and we are just so excited!
I hear that the powers that be will release Wivenhoe Dam tonight, followed up by the secondary dam tomorrow night, thanks to the lovely Cyclone who is heading our way over this weekend - not as a full cyclone, but pretty wet and wild none-the-less. They say we can expect between 200 and 300 mm tomorrow and Sunday.

To prove what I say I have taken some wonderful wet pictures:

See, the garden is growing massively!

And here is water on the hut floor!

The whole garden is a joy to behold at the moment, with all the showers the flowers are all trying to outdo one another!

My cuttings are about to burst out of their pots! That coriander in the bottom right hand pot, was next to dead 2 days ago - it has loved the real rain!

Thank you Diane, I'm sure that your wishes were the reason for all this water - at this point I scream "Thank you, thank you"!!

I may not feel this way for long though, once the dam is released!!!

We Have Had Rain !!!!

It's been raining since yesterday evening, I'm so pleased and so is the garden - things that were just drifting along have suddenly opened their flowers and put on some new buds!

Now we are hoping that the rain keeps up for a few more days!

How Does the Garden Grow?!

Well today is Monday and we are recovering from a weekend of massive storms, pouring rain, lightening, hail and thunder!  Today it's windy, but it looks like the rain has finished ( that's always the way here lately, whenever we get any decent rain, the day after it will blow the winds so hard, just to dry us out again, I think!)

Because we haven't had much rain for a long time, I thought you might like to see what's happening out in the garden :

The Day Lillies are magnificent, aren't they?

The frangipani is leafing up and beginning to flower well!

Well that will be all for tonight, blogger is soooo slooow in uploading the pictures, I'll show you more tomorrow!  See you then!

Not much to Show for Today

Haven't got anything finished to show for today.  Had a great time at our Sewing Group this morning, but I won't show the results until they are completely done.

I have lots of block of the months to catch up on, and a blog swap to do, and tomorrow Alan and I will spend the day out in the garden. The weeds are taking over, which is typical as soon as the warmer weather starts, and the late winds are knocking the plants around something awful.  So we need to hand water everything because there's no rain expected. Such is life!  We really really need some rain, everywhere is dry and dusty and burned off. Just a little bit, please Universe!

So that's about that for today, now let me find a picture that's cute or relaxing or nice or something  for you!

I love my Buddha!
