Just Dropping By

Hallo my online friends, and fellow Saturdays Scraps and 52 Weeks Word Photo Challenge, thought I had best let you all know what is happening this week.

Unfotunately I am currently in hospital with these silly lung and heart problems, so I'm thinking that we might extend Week 4 until the following Sunday.  That gives us all an extra week for Instantaneous (isn't that a doozie! - can't wait to see these ones!

I'm sorry to have to do this, and I hope that you all understand, it'sd a little more difficult this time to keep up while I'm in here.I am really enjoying this challenge, and I hope that you are also.

This would also be a good time for anyone interested in slipping in and joining the fun!

Please do not worry for me, I am in the best spot and will be home very soon.

So have lots of fun with this extra week.  See you the following weekend.

- Shaz

52 Weeks Word Photo Challenge

Welcome friends, to our pictures for week 3 of our challenge.

I'm sure that you had a great time choosing the best "bright".

So without further ado, lets look at mine:-

Now I took a number of photographs, and decided on this one - a bright beam of sunshine breaking through the cloud cover.  It was a little difficult to get a good shot of it, as I couldn't look into the lens to focus, it was too bright!

So I went against all photography rules for this one, and I like it! Rules are made to be broken, agreed?

So link up below and show us your bright photograph for week 3. I'll bet it's good.

See you tomorrow for week 4's word!

Saturdays Scraps

Welcome friends, to Saturdays Scraps!

I' ve been a bit sick this week, and absolutely unable to sit at my sewing machine, so I have nothing to show today.

Isn't that awful! I have mainly been sleeping and sitting and sleeping and walking a bit, and then resting some more. It's a problem with my lungs and even the oxygen is not helping at the moment.

I blame it on the weather really, for the past two weeks we have had between 30 and 40 degrees celsius and unbelievable smoke from burning bush fires around. So I suppose the poor old lungs have just said "Enough, I give up!!!", so I just have to take things very easy until my appointment with my respiratory surgeon next Tuesday.

So even thou I have no scrappy quilting to show, I now rely on yu to sign up with some and make me feel better (notice the tinee tiny bit of blackmail in that?)

Sign on below and show us your scrappyness

Week 3 of 52 Weeks Word Photo Challenge

I'm late again!!

Welcome friends, to this week's word.

I haven't had the opportunity to be on the computer, so I haven't popped around to see everyone's photographs yet, for last week!

Okay - fanfare please!
The word for this week is (grabs book to look it up!): "bright".

I like this one - I think we need an easier one this week -agreed?

So have some fun with this one and I'll see you back here next Sunday for our photo show- after Saturday for the scraps!!

Have a nice week

PS Dear Everyone, For some weird and wonderful reason, I am unable to make a comment on your photograph of Inspiring.

I shall try again tomorrow.

52 Week Word Photo Challenge

Welcome, friends to Week 2  and your photographs of the word "inspiring"! I have been so looking forward to this evening, and seeing your word photographs! Firstly, here's mine -

I had a bit of a giggle to myself as I typed the line above, because I was thinking that you have already said "On no, she's back in the garden again!"

Something has gone wrong with Blogger again, this post actually starts with the words "Welcome friends, to week 2 of our word photos. I do hope you enkjoyed this word, i found  it quite difficult and Alan was no help at all!!

So let's start with mine:

From here you need to read the first paragraph ( actually the 2nd) then come back down to the heeheehee - follow that alright???

heeheehee

Yes I am, and here is a reason for it!  I find this photograph very inspiring, as it shows that "where there is a will, there is a way", nothing is insurmountable for anyone.

These three different types of small ferns growing here on the stem of a palm are all self grown, the mother ferns live throughout the garden and the spores have blown onto this very palm, and taken root to grow as large as they want.

Now isn't that inspiring?

Add your pic to the linky below, and lets see what you think is beautiful:

Saturdays Scraps

Hello everyone, welcome to Saturday Scraps ,I have a few things to show you tonight - perhaps you have some things to show as well??

My Green Tea and Sweet Beans is coming along very well - here i am up to the clamshell sewing - they're devils, those clamshells, not at all easy to get along with!
They will probably all end up crooked, and it won't be my fault, they just won't cooperate!!

Now before we look at the following photographs, I have never made flying Geese! Do you believe that? Truely, I have never done them because I thought they were too hard to sew, but then I was looking at UTube one day, and there were all these videos on sewing flying geese, so of course I had to try following a bit on making 4 geese at a time.

Don't ask me for instructions, but it works! and it's pretty fast! and they turned out not too bad!

The colours in these pink ones are too close together to see whats happening really, so I will use this one for a bag for my friend who is undergoing chemo at the moment for bowel cancer.

She uses the bag to hold the tube of drugs that she has to wear constantly.  This size will make a bag - I simply make a lining to fit (I add a pocket to the lining), and a long handle to go over her shoulder and across her chest, and she is perfectly comfortable with them, so of course I am glad to make them up for her.

These geese are made the same way - I will be making something with these ones and also the next ones:

I made these ones individually, which I do not recommend, takes too long and they come out different sizes!
I'm really not that in to measuring every single piece of fabric when I make anything!!

But these will become something on the new little OOps!! I almost forgot, !!I can't tell you what they will become, because they haven't become it yet and that will give the game away!!!

Anyhow that's me for this week, feel free to join in with the Linky below!
