Saturdays Scraps

Welcome back for another week of scrappy goodies!

Haven't had the opportunity to do much sewing this week - have been hand sewing some Green Tea and Sweet Beans blocks, and doing s bit of work on my swap blocks with Australia Quilt Swap Blocks.  I've also  been busy with Doll Quilts, as they are due soon as well!

So one day through the week, I collected all the scrappy tops that I have ready to be backed and bound - I was surprised at just how many there are!

There are 5 small quilts hanging on this clothe hanger, all waiting patiently

This is one from the previous photo that I haven't shown you before
the centre fabric in each block is a real favourite of mine, so I decided on a bird quilt with it! I love how it turned out!

4 large quilts - single, double and queen sized ones here!

I still love this tumbler quilt to pieces!

And this blocks one, which was the beginning of the scrap bin clear out!

So this week I have decided to visit all the second hand stores in my area, looking for old sheets to back the quilts with - batting will probably be old blankets - I love being frugal!!

Poor little Priscilla had such a busy day today!~

So did our Tommy boy - isn't he just so regal!!?

So join in below  if you have some scrappy fun to share, won't you?

Haircut Day

Today was haircut day for Tommy and Priscilla.

The sun was shining a bit (for a short while!) so off we went down to Linda's house.

Poor Tommy was first - he was being a problem child!

But of course, now he is a handsome boy again!

Priscilla had decided it was time to leave when her turn came, I  had no chance to photograph her afterwards, she was straight into the car and ready to come home!

Linda always does a great job with their haircuts.

I Really Did Try

to get some pictures of the lorikeets as they played around in our bottlebrush tree.

Each afternoon they have been stopping by on their way to some big roosting trees, about 130 metres behind our garden.  NOTE: I said "Have been"!!

Of course, this afternoon I was waiting for them, with the trusty camera at the ready, Tommy by my side. Of course, none of them came!

Tommy got bored:

So he had a snooze.

I took a picture of our bottle brush:

You can see how dark it is getting, can't you?

The lorikeets were all screeching up in the trees behind us, so I took some long distance pictures:

Well, they're better than nothing aren't they?  Don't forget that you can click on the pictures and get a closer look at them

Old Friends day

Today we had a visit from some old friends that we had not seen for about 3 years.  They are over here from Albany in WA to visit their son and family.  After that, they are going on a 3 week holiday to New Zealand.  Lucky them!

Dear Carole, Tommy fell madly in love!

and her husband Chris.

It always makes me sad when they leave, because I remember how much I miss them not being nearby.  But besides that, we had a lovely day together, and would you believe these are the only pictures I took!!

Poor Fur Babies!

Alan's surgery went well, and was a little bit more than the surgeon expected.  But he is recovering well and will be in hospital for the weekend and hopefully home on Monday.

Tommy and Priscilla are spending their days watching through the front window for daddy to come home: I finally managed to entice them away from the window for a bit of a photo shoot:

I should have done some work on the picture I think! Nothing like a bit of red eye to make things complete!

Poor Tommy is sad....

Priscilla has decided she's had enough modelling and she is going back to the window!!

Put these pics down to practising with the new camera - next time I'll do some work in the camera programs and try to make the pics a bit more normal....
