Doing Some Catch Up

I hope everyone is well.  It has been raining all day here so I have been at work in my sewing room, trying to catch up on BOM’s and other bits.
Haven’t done that much, but here’s some pictures:
P6270001 A new runner for the dining room table
P6270004Made up of blocks from a  virtual bee I was in last year -    I think they go really well together.

P6270005Blocks 8 & 9 of the Bloggers BOM. I do Like them, though I think Month 9 wasn’t written the way I am used to, I was getting a bit annoyed with the instructions, though the block is nice when it is finished. Only one more of these BOM’s and I’ll be up to date with them I think!
P6270006A block that will become I don’t know what yet!

Still have a few more to go, so back to the sewing room!

Do You Need a Laugh?

Hallo everyone, just check out "My Mum Won't Talk to Me" on my knitting and Crochet Page.

I'll give you a laugh at my expense!

Quilt Modelled as Promised

My dear friend, Di, was here today, helping me in the garden, and she agreed to do the modelling of the quilt for me:
I just loved all those pictures, so had to share them all. I think she did a great job!
The backing is this lovely pale green, and it is bound in the batik.
The quilt measures 64” x 75”, and will cover a double bed:

Playing Catch Up

I wanted to show everyone what I have been making on Thursday mornings at our Sewing Group:

I don’t know the final size yet because I haven’t measured it!  It’s batiks with a lovely pale green backing – I’ll show you more tomorrow when I can get a model to hold it!

I’m currently trying to catch up on BOM’s, so time is at a premium here!

Camera Course

Today Alan & I did a beginners course with the DSLR camera.

We went down to the Gold Coast to do it , and I'll put a few of my pics here to show how I went.  I was quite proud of myself:

The lorikeets and magpies were very friendly, I was lucky to get so many good shots of them, every time I aimed the camera they would bob their heads!  Had to just keep shooting and hope I caught a good one!

Well now I know what I need to know hopefully I will improve with my photoes....

Tonight is the 2nd Game in The State of Origin

Just a quick note for everyone that lives overseas - The State of Origin Game is a long held tradition here between New South Wales and Queensland.

It is a rugby league match, held yearly  over 3 games and the winner takes the trophy.  Queensland (the Maroons) are going for their 7th win in a row this year.

New South Wales are called the Blues.  Booo Hisss
There's a long standing emnity between our two states!
Wish us luck, second game of this series - of course we won the first one!!

It’s on the Way!

As I promised, the quilt show is this evening!
It is winging it’s way to country New South Wales as I type.
P6120001Here is the quilt in its travelling bag, ready to go to the post office.  Hard to imagine it fits a queen sized bed, isn’t it?
P6110001And here it is on the bed – half square triangles in every setting I could imagine – some amazing designs show up once its finished…..

P6110002  The label and the backing – if she gets tired of all the colour on the front she can simply turn it over!

I am really pleased about this finish and eager to get on with other things now.

The Binding is Done

Well the binding and label have been attached to the big quilt, and it is ready to go tomorrow to it’s forever home.
I’m not real happy with the binding, as I did it all by machine, usually I hand sew the binding at the back.  I knew I wouldn’t make it if I tried to hand sew this one, so I tried machining it.  I need to practice machine  binding so I become more at ease with it.
Here it is in it’s bag, all ready to go.  Sorry, can’t show anymore but i will tomorrow night once it is on it’s way.

A Question

Howe do you like my new Knitting and Crochet page and the embroidery one?

Would you read them or not?  I'm not sure if I should keep them, what do you think?
I would really appreciate your views and I will reply as soon as I can.

Thank you.

Finally All is Revealed!

I knew you all would like to see this, it’s concerning those big concrete balls in the park, i have put them on last Sunday Snippets, and again through the week.

I know there are some of my friends out there holding their breath with anticipation to find out what it’s all about!

So now, finally all can be revealed  -  drum roll here please………………….

They are garden ornaments!!!!!  See the pretty garden??  Isn’t it just too gorgeous??
And again - second drum roll please……………………

Just make certain that you look at the large view of these pictures, you won’t want to miss the full effect!
The concrete balls have been painted with some type of shiny surface - hopefully noeone can graffiti them.
There's only the little garden around the small balls - the big balls don't get a garden of their own!
The left side doesn't match the right side of the road.  Don't get me started!!

So very precious, aren’t they?
